After completing what was regarded as a very successful test for the Renault
Formula One squad last week, young French driver Sebastian Bourdais has
travelled to America to take part in a testing session for the Newman/Haas
CART team.
The 2002 F3000 champion was one of four drivers vying for the testing position
available at the French F1 outfit, and now he is one of another group trying
out for the available seat alongside Bruno Junqueira in the 2003 CART series.
Among the other names in contention is this years Telefonica World Series by
Nissan champion and former F1 driver and tester, Ricardo Zonta. Justin Wilson
was also expected to test this week, however his new position as Minardi
Formula One driver has put an end to that commitment!
Meanwhile, as part of a reward for securing the 2002 Formula Ford Zetec title,
American driver Bryan Sellers tested the Lola Champ Car yesterday at Sebring
International Raceway and will do further running today.
