Sebastien Bourdais earned his third Bridgestone Pole Award of the 2005 season by turning a lap of 54.243 (96.101 mph)at the Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose
source: champcarworldseries.com Bourdais switched the top spot with his teammate Oriol Servia throughout the 35-minute qualifying session that was slowed by three red flags. Servia was second fastest with Paul Tracy slotted into the third position. Joining Tracy on the second row is A.J. Allmendinger. Rookie Timo Glock was the fastest rookie of the session just edging Bjorn Wirdheim for that honor. For his part, rookie Andrew Ranger will start from 11th position while Alecandre Tagliani who could not qualify will start from 17th position.
