Of course Alex Tagliani is excited about coming to race in Edmonton source: canoe.ca Of course he's excited about the Champ Car World Series maintaining a third race in Canada. But really, Tagliani is excited about racing, period. That's racing, not necessarily driving. "I've driven many supercars," said the Quebec native as he stepped out of a 2005 Lamborghini at the AgriCom yesterday as workers were adding the finishing touches for this weekend's auto show. "I had the chance to drive the Ford GT40 at the Montreal auto show. Obviously all the supercars are amazing to drive, unfortunately the roads in Montreal are not that nice to ride on." Welcome to Edmonton, Alex. But Tags - as many of his co-drivers call him - welcomes the opportunity to race the bumpy surface of City Centre Airport, designated Finning International Speedway for the July race. "I would really like to go see the track while I am here in Edmonton, and spend some time with our engineer looking over some data that we have from Cleveland (Burke-Lakefront Airport). "We haven't even started testing yet," he said of Year 3 for the Rocketsports team owned by racer Paul Gentilozzi, one of the principals of Champ Car. "So (it's about) trying to bring the team to a level that we can come here and be Top 3."
