On August 27, 28 and 29, 2004 the Molson Indy Montréal will be a breathtaking experience; many drivers are still in contention for the 2004 Champ Car World Series Championship title and the Québec drivers have had very impressive performances.
Patrick Carpentier, driving for Forsythe Championship Racing, Sébastien Bourdais from Newman/Hass, and Pascal Picotte with Yamaha in the Superbike series were in Montréal to discuss their respective seasons. They are prepared and enthusiastic about the idea of racing in front of Québec fans and are confident they can achieve excellent results.
"I truly believe that I am contender for the Championship title," declared Patrick Carpentier. "I'm really looking forward to seeing the Québec fans again. In 2002 I was in second place prior to a mechanical failure and in 2003, I finished on the podium in third place. For the 2004 race I am going to give the Montréal fans an even better show. It's always a great honour to race at home."
"The team and I are having a great season! There are still a lot of races left and I will do everything in my power to ensure that we maintain our lead with the championship. I can't wait for the Montréal race so I can add a victory on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve to my résumé !,", said Sébastien Bourdais.
