Champ Car drivers seemed resigned to the fact they were going to have to make the best of a difficult situation over this weekend's race at San Jose
source: paddocktalk.com With 40,000 in the grand stands on Friday and the numbers expected to swell over the weekend (which they did), the expectation was to avert a USGP type situation where the fans go home without seeing a show. So put on a show they did, and with the drivers trying to put the best face on the situation all weekend. A couple of drivers reported headaches from the ski-jump over the railroad tracks. More reported bruises, bumps, etc. Andrew Ranger was the only driver to say much about the track on the race broadcast on SpeedTV. He said, the circuit wasn't suitable for Champ Cars. While earlier in the weekend, Paul Tracy compared the situation to World Rally Cars. All-in-all the track was a horrid debacle, but the Champ Car drivers just dealt with it. Isn't that an refreshing way to handle a tough situation?
