Over the weekend, rumors began to surface that Mi-Jack Champ Car rookie Andrew Ranger was under financial pressure since he apparently has to pay for any damage to his Champ Car source: paddocktalk.com In fact at least one report indicated that the youngster had to borrow $100,000 just to compete at Montreal. Apparently, that doesn't matter now as his agent has indicated to the Canadian Press that "We have enough money to finish the season." More importantly his Mi-Jack Team owner agrees. Eric Bachelart said, "I can tell you we are committed to Andrew for the rest of the season." The PaddockTalk Perspective: Before signing with Mi-Jack, rumors suggested Ranger had enough funding for 10 of the 14 races this season. But now, it sounds like young Ranger is set for 2005, which is good. Young rookies should be focused on their racing, and gaining experience, rather than off-track financial difficulties. Maybe next season he should step back down to Atlantics, and collect the $2 million dollar reward for winning the championship.
