This week's installment of Spike TV's Champ Car-themed magazine show Dangerous Curves hits the Big Apple, taking viewers on a ride through the streets of Manhattan with Newman/Haas Racing co-owner Paul Newman and racing legend Mario Andretti as they helped kick off a sponsorship gala in New York City source: champcarworldseries.com Sunday morning's show, which airs at 10 a.m. Eastern/ 9 a.m. Central Time on Spike, sees the Dangerous Curves cameras following the Champ Car two-seater through the streets of Manhattan on a miserably rainy night as the two lifelong racers helped Herdez Competition sponsor Gevril launch a new product. Upon conclusion of the ride, Beccy Gordon interviews Andretti and Newman, as well as members of Herdez Competition at the gala held at the elegant Tourneau Time Machine in New York City, which featured a special silent auction of motorsports art to benefit Hole in the Wall Camps. The show will then go behind the scenes to meet some of the hard-working crew members who prep the 750 hp Champ Cars, with an exclusive and in-depth look at the Herdez and PKV race teams during the Bridgestone 400 Presented by Corona in Las Vegas. Sunday's episode will also see Bronte Tagliani strap into the new five-liter 430 hp Ford Focus pace car as the Champ Car Fast Lap team takes her on a wild ride. Fans will also get a chance to vote on their favorite Champ Car music video, among three that have been aired this year.
