The surprising star of Indianapolis' fabled 500-mile race in 2005 is
Danica Patrick

Hardly noteworthy, perhaps, unless you know that 23-year-old Patrick is a young
woman with a future eye on Formula One.
She is a significant fourth on the Indy 500 grid and went fastest of all in one
practice session at the legendary oval.
Danica, who finished second to Anthony Davidson in the 2000 Formula Ford
Festival, is a protégé of former Jaguar principal Bobby Rahal, no doubt aware of
the potential value of an American female for F1.
Also in next Sunday's Indy field will be former F1 test driver Ryan Briscoe, who
- while Patrick went fourth - crashed and nearly rolled his car.
The PaddockTalk Perspective:
Woooohh there kids.... We couldn't disagree more with this rumor, except from
the standpoint that EVERY driver would like to race in F1.
Danica has yet to win her first IRL race... Until she fights for a
Championship... let's forget about Formula One.
