The IRL IndyCar broadcast started last night with Danica Patrick being interviewed by ESPN. It you were looking for clarity, you'll have to look hard. source: paddocktalk.com - rumors DANICA PATRICK (No. 16 Rahal Letterman Racing Team Argent Dallara/Honda/Firestone): (What does Danica Patrick want to do?): "I want to race IndyCar. I really do. I want to win the Indy 500 like I said. I want to be successful here. My goals haven't changed. I came here to do well on the track, to learn, to win and be successful. And off the track, I want to grow the sport. My goals haven't changed since my parents went to the race at Chicago. All it did was show me different opportunities. Whether it comes now or three, five, seven or 10 years down the line, I'll deal with it then. Like I said, I really want to win the Indy 500." The PaddockTalk Perspective: The key word in all of these comments is this..... 'want'. The question is what will she be offered. Patrick also indicated she wants to be competing for wins. After last night's fourth place run... is Rahal/Letterman racing still in contention, or will the IndyCar series only keep her by getting her a ride at the IRL superteams of Ganassi, Penske, or AGR ? As for the reported offered from a NASCAR Nextel Cup team... there was no mention of that. Stay tuned.
