AJ Foyt, IV named as his replacement source:irl.racing-live.com - ORS / CAPSIS International Dario Franchitti will miss the IndyCar Series season finale at Chicagoland Speedway due to a concussion suffered when he crashed a Jaguar E-Type at the Goodwood Revival in West Sussex, England. Even more surprising than Franchitti being injured during the historic car meeting is the fact he will be replaced by AJ (Anthony) Foyt, IV. "We're looking forward to having Anthony in the Klein Tools/Canadian Club car this weekend," said Michael Andretti, Chief Executive Officer of Andretti Green Racing. "It's unfortunate that Dario won't be able to drive, but we're confident that Anthony will do a great job for us. He's got a lot of natural talent and we're hoping to give him a fast car this weekend." Foyt, IV began his IndyCar Series career at the age of 19 driving for his legendary grandfather's team, but struggled for both results and on-track consistency in his 47 career starts. Observers, including Panther Racing team co-owner John Barnes, have publicly stated a belief that Foyt, IV has the talent to be successful, and was being held back by the inadequacies of the Foyt Racing team, and his own youth. The Foyt Racing IndyCar Series team has not won a race since Airton Dare's victory at Kansas Speedway in 2002, and the assets of their NASCAR program will soon be auctioned off. Last month it was announced that Larry Foyt, Foyt, IV's older brother, would begin taking over the day to day management of the racing team as founder AJ Foyt, Jr., feels his crew needs to get younger in order to get more competitive.
