The result is Philippes fourth top ten of the season, and moved the Frenchman to thirteenth in the 2005 Champ Car World Series drivers championship, as the result also contributed to France winning the Champ Car Nations Cup over Canada. "This was the best race of my Champ Car career", said Philippe. "The guys did a fantastic job for me all weekend like they have all season, and I am very excited to give them a good result and to run so well in front of the Mexican fans. I was confident about the race because the car was good all weekend, and we had a good balance so I was able to keep a good pace all the way through to the end. It is satisfying to close out the year on a high like this, and I am already looking forward to next season."
