After losing some precious track time in the morning practice session due to numerous red flags, the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Team qualified ninth and 14th today during first round of qualifying for the West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix presented by The Brick. source: champcarworldseries.com Charles Zwolsman was able to complete his first outing before a red flag flew half way through the session, but it was during his second stint that he put in his best lap of 1:01.393 placing him ninth on the provisional grid. Andrew Ranger was not so lucky after being caught by the red flag on his first set of tires and after being blocked by Katherine Legge on his second set. The young Canadian had to settle for 14th with a time of 1:01.672. The final round of qualifying will take place tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. eastern. 9th- Charles Zwolsman #34 Mi-Jack Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone Qualifying 1: 1:01.393 (115.694 mph) "The session went well, we're in the top ten and that is always the goal. It seems like the times are very close together so I think it will be a good fight tomorrow. We're suffering from a bit of oversteer today but I think we can improve the car for tomorrow, there is still some time left in it." 14th- Andrew Ranger #27 Tide Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone Qualifying 1: 1:01.672 (115.171 mph) "I'm pretty happy with how today went. With the first set of tires we were sixth but then when we went back out on the second set of tires I was stuck behind Katherine Legge and she blocked me until the end of the session. I also had Tagliani behind me and with the little time left in the session it was hard to open up a gap and I was unable to put in a good clear lap, but overall the car was good and I think we can do better tomorrow."
