If not exactly in good health, injured Indy Racing League driver Tomas Enge is clearly in better spirits as he embarks on the road to recovery from his latest brush with the wall, this time at Nashville Superspeedway.
source: crash.net The Czech driver suffered fractures to his T-12 and L-1 vertebrae after a suspension failure pitched the RockStar Dallara-Chevrolet into the turn one wall early in the race. Clearly in some difficulty, Enge was removed to the circuit's medical centre and then transported by ambulance to University Medical Centre in nearby Lebanon for further examination. He is now resting at home in Indianapolis. "The impact was really heavy and I immediately felt some pain," Enge explained, "I have some pain now, but it is much better than the broken ribs [I suffered in Japan earlier this season]. "I will undergo further checks at the beginning of the week and we will see when I can return [to action]. If it was my decision, I would go back to racing now, because we were very quick in the last races and we are hungry for success." Enge's driving status will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks.
