Eurointernational's Champ Car entry should retain the team's traditional silver/blue paint scheme and be steered by an European driver source: speedtv.com - Cassio Cortes The Eurointernational squad's return to Champ Car competition should happen on a limited, 10-race schedule next year, team owner Antonio Ferrari admitted to Autosport-Atlas. Ferrari aims at entering a single car for the 2006 season, sporting the team's traditional blue and silver colors, ahead of a full-time, two-car effort in '07, when the Champ Car World Series is set to debut a new technical package with a smaller, lighter chassis. "I feel that now are the technical and financial conditions to bring back Eurointernational Team in Champ Car," said Ferrari, who captained the underfunded Euromotorsport operation in the CART IndyCar scene in the early-to-mid '90s. "Since our last race at Laguna Seca in 1994, my team has some unfinished business." Ferrari, who claims to already have the equipment and an Indianapolis facility in place for his CCWS comeback, intends to introduce an European driver to Champ Car next year. He has previously expressed a preference for Minardi third driver Enrico Toccacelo. Eurointernational's current main focus is the World Series by Renault, where its drivers Giorgio Mondini and Matteo Meneghello have scored just five points combined so far, placing the team 13th among 13 squads. The operation also has Italian F-Renault 2000 and F-BMW USA programs, which are intended to carry on next season.
