Swiss driver Fabio Leimer will be driving a Sauber C30-Ferrari during one of the “Young Driver Days” in Abu Dhabi after the conclusion of the season.
Wednesday, the Swiss Formula 1 team announced that a Sauber C30-Ferrari will not only be driven by Esteban Gutièrrez, but also by Fabio Leimer. Mexican Gutièrrez, the team’s 20-year-old official test and reserve driver, will be at the wheel for two of the three days in Abu Dhabi. Fabio Leimer, 22-year-old and from the Kanton Aargau in Switzerland who has competed in the GP2 and GP2 Asia series, will have his first experience in an F1 car for one day. The so called “Young Driver Days” are the test days for up and coming drivers who have competed in no more than two Formula 1 races, and will take place from November 15th to 17th after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
