Round Nine (9) of Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Team Player's drivers Paul Tracy and Patrick Carpentier completed their
first test session this afternoon in preparation for Saturday night Grand Prix
of Cleveland. Carpentier finished second with a lap time of 59.890 seconds around the
3.389-kilometre (2.106-mile) Burke Lakefront Airport temporary road course. He
averaged 203.866 km/h. His teammate Tracy was next in third place with a lap
time of 59.871 seconds (203.794 km/h). Fastest of the 19 drivers entered for Round 9 of the Champ Car World Series
was Bruno Junqueira who posted a lap time of 59.555 seconds (204.876 km/h).
Canadian Alex Tagliani finished 11th.
Drivers will return on track this afternoon for the first qualifying session beginning at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. A full report on qualifying will follow. Later that evening, Champ Car drivers will return on track at 8 p.m. for their first two under the lights practice sessions.
