I am sure we will carry on the excellent work FMS started last year in Italian F.3000, with this new GP2 team. I am confident that the GP2 team will enable us to achieve important international goals!" The Principals of the team will be Paolo Coloni and Enrico Zanarini, who will manage the team on and off the track. "This joint venture between Coloni and FMS signals the start of something I think will be very special," said FMS International Team Principal Paolo Coloni. "I am personally a very big fan of the GP2 series and what it is doing for this level of motorsport, and I am very much looking forward to the 2006 season. For me, I must thank my family for this wonderful life of motorsport. Today is the realisation of a goal and the start of a mission. Giancarlo and I go back a long way, to Italian F3 when we raced against each other. When we were rivals I respected him both on and off the track. Today, I respect him just as much. He has many, many qualities as a driver and as a man, and I look forward to working with him and Enrico, and to what I am sure will be a bright future with them both in the GP2 series." In announcing their collaboration with Coloni for 2006 and beyond, FMS also reiterated its committment to the Italian F.3000 series, having already registered two cars for the 2006 championship, renewing its successful technical partnership with other GP2 series team Durango.
