It seems that if you've won two races in midfield Champ Car teams, and have a forgetable season in a car that hasn't ever driven at the front source: paddocktalk.com You are expendable. Especially if another 'Great American Hope' can be found. But given that background, Hunter-Reay was still in Mexico City trying to keep a foot in the Champ Car series. The former Champ Car driver told the Champ Car web site that, "This is where I want to be. I'm expecting a long winter, but I believe it's going to happen. There's no place else I want to be." But then, a man's got to do what a man's got to do. And in the United States the opportunities are limitless for former drivers cast off by the open-wheel community.... in NASCAR So the report goes on to say that the young man will go and test a NASCAR Busch Car this winter. Apparently, 'intrigued' by what former Champ Car Champion Paul Tracy has been telling him about the stock cars. The PaddockTalk Perspective: Hunter-Reay hasn't ever driven with a top team in Champ Car. And it doesn't appear as though he'll ever get that chance. His best chance might be with PKV Racing if he was offered a shot at the shoot-out... but his name has yet to appear in connection with that seat. Where he ends up, it's hard to say.... but if he ends up back in Champ Car with a top team we will be pleasantly surprised.
