Dominguez will line-up with Tracy source: paddocktalk.com - Anne Proffit Forsythe racing announced that Mario Dominguez would return with the Champ Car team for the 2006 season. During last week's unveiling of the new Champ Car Atlantic Championship Swift 016.a at the Petersen Automotive Museum, we asked Neil Mickelwright, vice president of operations for Forsythe Championship Racing if the team was ready to announce its slate of drivers for the Champ Car World Series? Mickelwright danced around the query but did say that he was nearly certain Mario Dominguez would once again partner Paul Tracy by driving the #7 Indeck Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone challenger. Today Mickelwright and Dominguez confirmed the partnership continues, as team owner Gerald Forsythe has hired the Mexican ace for a second season. Dominguez, 30, cut loose from the former Team Herdez after the 2004 campaign signed his 2005 contract with Forsythe just a day before practice began at Long Beach last April. He still managed, without any test time or crew knowledge to bring home a third place qualifying effort and fifth in the first race of the season. Although Dominguez did not win a race in 2005 - he does have two victories on his resume - Mario did complete his third straight season within the Top 10 in the final points tally. It wasn't easy with five DNFs, but Dominguez put together seven Top-10 results and a single podium visit of second place at Denver in August.
