Quotes from Paul and Patrick source: champcarworldseries.com Paul Tracy #1 After running first all afternoon in the qualifying session there was disappointment overall with qualifying only third. "We were doing really well on the first round until Ryan Hunter Reay caused a red flag after doing a doughnut. I was very disappointed that it was a red flag, you only have so many opportunities to pass so for a red flag to be called that close to the end it's hard to get back up to speed" Tracy had this to say on the reconfiguration of the track for the 2004 Grand Prix of Denver "I don't agree that the new track configuration is any safer, in fact I feel it is more dangerous than before, just because the corner is wider doesn't make it any safer, you now have a straightaway that leads into a concrete barrier." Tracy has started in ninth and 15th here in the past and always worked his way through the field for the finish respectably. Patrick Carpentier Patrick Carpentier was content with his Seventh place qualifying effort this afternoon. Though it was a struggle to get a good lap in after the practice sessions he had he was still positive on the day. "I just lost it going out for practice this morning, I hit the wall again in the fifteen minute session, we replaced the rear wing and went into qualifying. I just wanted to stay on the track and not hit anything and do a decant lap. We ended up seventh so it's not too bad, for the day we were having, it's not too bad." Carpentier Commented on the qualifying session. In the past two years he has qualified in the eight and sixth starting positions.
