The English driver set the pace in the morning session from Nelson Piquet Jr (Piquet Sports) but a sudden deluge of rain and the onset of thick fog called for an early end to proceedings due to safety. Olivier Pla (DPR) was third fastest this morning, as Lucas di Grassi maintained his current good form with another strong showing in fourth place for Super Nova International. Ernesto Viso was fifth for iSport International, with Andreas Zuber sixth for BCN Competicion. The GP2 series now takes a break from the rigours of testing until the New Year, when the first 26-car GP2 series test will take place.
