Happy Holidays from Rocketsports Racing source: Rocketsports Racing After an action-packed season competing full-time in the Champ Car World Series, part-time in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series, and running in two Trans-Am events, Rocketsports Racing continues to be one of the most diverse and accomplished companies of its kind in North America. Despite a challenging 2006 season in the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford, the team was able to have a successful podium finish with Mario Dominguez in Surfers Paradise, Australia, with a second place result in the #8 Pemex/GICSA/Del Valle Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone. Rookie Champ Car driver Antonio Pizzonia put the Rocketsports' #18 Lexington Energy Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone out in front in two of the four races he competed in with the team this season, leading laps during the events in Montreal and Australia. Nicky Pastorelli and Tonis Kasemets also made their debuts in Champ Car this season with Rocketsports Racing, and had some runs that demonstrated their ability to run in a top-ranked open wheel series. This year, Rocketsports Racing opened a new chapter entering the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Presented by Crown Royal Premium Select. Rocketsports' team owner, Paul Gentilozzi, and long-time teammate Tomy Drissi competed in select events in the #50 Ford Crawford. Two events saw Champ Car driver Tonis Kasemets return to Sports Car Club Racing when he replaced Gentilozzi due to other obilgations that kept the team owner outside of the cockpit.
