In his final qualifying session at the Mazda Grand Prix of Portland Presented by Joe's Sports and Outdoor, Heylen (#34 Champ Car Grand Prix of Belgium / Cosworth / DP01 / Bridgestone) finished 14th in the session with a fast lap time of 73.745 at a speed of 95.876-mph. His provisional qualifying time has given Conquest Racing one of the strongest starts that it has had in the 2007 season. Jan will start in the sixth row next to Oriol Servia at Sunday's race when the green flag drops on the fourth round of the 2007 Champ Car World Series. Tomorrow also marks the inaugural race for the new standing starts that Champ Car has implemented this year and has been eagerly anticipated. "Our times yesterday were good and since the forecast looks dry for the event I think we'll be very competitive," said Heylen. "We didn't quite find the balance that we wanted here in the rain during today's qualifying but I'm not worried and the car feels ready to race. Every time I am in the car, I'm gaining more experience and I look forward to getting a complete race weekend under my belt." The green flag drops on the fourth round of the 2007 Champ Car World Series on Sunday, June 10th at 1:00 p.m. PST at the Mazda Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland Presented by Joe's Sports and Outdoor. The race will be broadcast live on ABC beginning at 4:00 p.m. EST.
