After an uncompetitive 2005 season, and losing their best team, Toyota's future in the IRL seems to be under pressure source: paddocktalk.com Although Honda is prepared to supply engines to the entire IRL IndyCar field starting in 2007, the Indianapolis Star is reporting that the IRL and the manufacturer have been met to insure the manufacturer is prepared.... 'if necessary'... to supply the entire field in 2006. The PaddockTalk Perspective: Working out the details for the regular season with 20-22 cars would seem like a workable task to handle since Honda supplied 14 teams for the 2005 Indianapolis 500. But having to supply all the equipment necessary for a 33 car field at the Indianapolis 500 in such a short time frame... that's a much bigger task. But if Toyota can't get teams to buy their engines... Shame on Toyota!
