It was another day in Indy during the month of May and another day with rain source: irl.racing-live.com - ORS / CAPSIS International As a result, practice was cut short after little more than 3 hours of track time. Rain also caused brief delays twice earlier in the session. This came as no surprise however as rain had been forecast all along. In reality, the teams expected worse according to Sam Hornish. "We got a lot more running in today than we thought we were going to be able to do. We thought it would probably start raining right about the time we took the track." Hornish continued, "It was kind of nice actually when we went out - a little warmer. Then it cooled off quite a bit, became more overcast and the wind picked up a little bit. So we got a little bit of testing in two different conditions today." Sam Hornish was the fastest for the second day in a row as he also posted a new quick time for the month at 226.056 miles per hour. Dan Wheldon, the third fastest yesterday, was not far behind as the two seem to be setting the stage for a heated battle among two of the top teams in the sport, Penske and Ganassi. With so many cars on the track today it was inevitable that "the tow" would come in to play. Hornish acknowledged that his fast time was probably aided by this phenomenon although it was not intentional. "We were trying to do a qualifying simulation and on the last lap someone came out of the pits. So I guess I did pick up a little bit of a tow."
