Despite a relentless battle with Champ Car veteran and previous race winner Justin Wilson, Nelson defensively prevailed to take a fine fourth position. While some drivers have struggled on the new street circuit venues on Champ Car's schedule as they present difficult surfaces, 19-year old Philippe overcomes these challenges; his career best start came on the infamous San Jose street circuit and his best finish at Houston, which was also deemed to be a bumpy and challenging circuit. Monterrey '05: Philippe anticipates his return to Parque Fundidora, the site of his near victory in 2005. He led more laps than any other driver (23) at the event last year. NELSON PHILIPPE: "I am very excited to go back to Monterrey and I am really looking forward on building more momentum from Houston. Last year I had a really good race there and I can't wait to race in front of the Mexican crowd again. It is like a home race for me and people always welcome me with open arms. I will be wearing my helmet that sports the Mexican colors again this year to show my appreciation. The team has a good baseline car for this circuit and since I enjoy the course myself, we may have a killer combination. I am also very happy to go back to a "not-so-bumpy" track because the Houston track really kicked my butt. It has been a really short turn-around for the team and I feel for our truckies who are going to have a tough couple of weeks on the road. I already miss my team and want to get to race again. Like Jimmy Vasser would say: "Si se puede!""
