Andretti Autosport Carlos Munoz won the Firestone Indy Lights race at Pocono, finishing way ahead of any competitor that followed him at 2.5 mile tri-oval.
The Colombian crossed the finish line no less than 16.3 seconds before his closest adversary Sage Karam, and reclaimed the points lead. The real action came in the battle between Karam and his Schmidt team-mate Gabby Chaves, who managed to jump him for second off the starting line. Karam later reclaimed the position but was never able to get away and Chaves became more and more aggressive towards the end of the event. The pair even made contact at one point, leaving Chaves with a damaged front wing and unable to try anything against Karam but still able to finish third. Andretti's Zach Veach was fourth, albeit some distance down the road, ahead of Jack Hawksworth and Juan Pablo Garcia. Peter Dempsey recovered from a brush with the wall to finish in seventh ahead of Jorge Goncalvez.
