After weeks of speculations, Bryan Herta Autosport has announced that it had chosen former Indy Lights driver Jack Hawksworth to become its official racer for the upcoming 2014 IndyCar Series’ season.
This is quite a surprise since everyone in the paddock expected the nomination of either Luca Filippi or former Panther Racing JR Hilderbrand as the team’s official driver since both had been evaluated quite extensively at the end of the 2013 season after the departure of Alex Tagliani. "We've been in contact with many drivers over the winter and the interest has been strong, and we've decided to go with Jack," Herta declared. "He did a great job of impressing the engineers with his feedback and didn't feel to us like a rookie." Herta also revealed that former primary sponsor Barracuda Networks had notified him at the end of December that they were not coming back. After weeks of hard work, the team can now announce that Castrol and The Collection Auto Group are coming aboard to replace Barracuda. Recent Articles
