Robert Doornbos has left the Newman Haas Lanigan IndyCar team leading speculation about him returning to the HVM team where he was successful when it was a Champ Car team. His departure also opened the door to speculation that Sébastien Bourdais, the French Formula One driver released from Toro Rosso, might be returning to the team where he won four Champ Car titles before the reunification. "We had the option to leave the team after 12 races which I made use of," Doornbos wrote on his personal website. "I want to stay in IndyCar Series and I will announce my future plans very soon. I like to thank the team and especially Mike Lanigan and Carl Haas. I wish them a bright future." Photos: A1GP
