According to sources close to the team, Tony Kanaan is about to join KV Racing Technology for the upcoming 2012 IndyCar season.
Even though Kanaan is unreachable for comment, we have learned that the Brazilian’s deal is all but signed and that an announcement should be made in the coming days. Kanaan lost his job with Andretti Autosport when long-time sponsor 7-Eleven left the team. After announcing in December that he was teaming up with Gil de Ferran and the Dragon Racing operation, Kanaan learned two weeks ago there was no funding and he was out of a job. Last year Kanaan and his former teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay were the only two non-Penske or Ganassi drivers to visit victory lane.
