Paul Tracy could be forced to miss the final round of the Champ Car World Series after injuring himself during a golf cart prank near his Las Vegas home. source: crash.net Currently disputing fourth in the championship with Surfers' Paradise winner Nelson Philippe, Tracy crashed a golf cart when he and his friends were 'jumping sand traps', with one of the wheels coming off and causing the vehicle to fall on top of him. "Something broke, the right-front wheel fell off and the golf cart tipped over," he told SpeedTV. "It fell on top of me and threw everybody else clear. You don't have to tell me, it was dumb." The accident has broken his scapula and leaves him as a doubt to take to the seat of his Forsythe Racing car at the final round in Mexico, even if the Canadian himself remains confident that he will be fit enough to race. "It hurts pretty bad, but I'm getting some treatment and I think I'll be able to qualify and at least start the race. If I can get my motion back I should be alright. There's only a couple of left-hand corners and everything else is right-handers, so I'll be using my left arm a lot more." Tracy's mishap comes at a difficult time for Forsythe Racing having already severed ties with leading driver A.J. Allmendinger prior to the season finale after the American's announced he is defecting to NASCAR for 2007. Allmendinger has already been replaced by Buddy Rice, while David Martinez will also make his Champ Car debut for the front running team in front of his home crowd meaning Forsythe Racing can afford to revert back to a two-car strategy, if a very inexperienced one at that.
