Canadian driver Paul Tracy has shed more than 35 pounds and will be in great shape coming in for this month Indianapolis 500 behind the wheel of KV Racing No.15 Dallara Honda.
The former 2003 Champ Car champion became worried about his weight when he saw himself on a television show on which he was working.
"They had sent me some raw footage to watch from one of the first episodes we filmed," Tracy said. "I saw myself on TV and said, 'I've got to lose some weight."' Tracy will drive for KV Racing Technology in the Indy 500 on May 30, joining teammates Takuma Sato, E.J. Viso and Mario Moraes. He is also scheduled to drive in the Toronto and Edmonton races if he can finalize sponsorship details. Tracy said an announcement could be made in the coming weeks. Last year, he finished ninth at Indy, one of three top-10 finishes on the season.
