Andretti Green's Tony Kanaan has now put behind him his short run at the Indianapolis 500 and he is now focusing on the next round that will be run this weekend at the fame Milwaukee Mile. Kanaan will try to win a third consecutive race there.
Only two drivers have ever won three consecutive races at one circuit - Dan Wheldon at Homestead-Miami and Scott Dixon at Watkins Glen in 2005, 06 and 07. The Brazilian slipped 52 points off Dixon's championship lead after Indy. Two years ago in Milwaukee, he led 127 laps and last year he led 25, but he won both races, and feels that the short oval suits his style. As for Scott Dixon, it seems that his faith at the Milwaukee Mile is to be the eternal runner-up. In the four seasons that the IndyCar Series has raced at the Mile, the Indy 500 winner has finished second three times. Last year marked the first time that the IndyCar Series race at Milwaukee immediately followed the 500 but, historically, this will be the 51st time that Milwaukee has followed Indianapolis.
