As Auto123.com reported some weeks ago, it has been made official now that the IndyCar Series will stage a race in Baltimore on a temporary street circuit sited near the famed inner harbour.
The race, which is scheduled to take place on August 7 2011, will be held on a 2.4-mile course in downtown Baltimore. "This is an historic day for Baltimore and the State of Maryland, as well as the entire East Coast Region, as we have finalised plans for the IZOD IndyCar Series racing in Baltimore in 2011," said Jay Davidson, CEO of the Baltimore Grand Prix. The circuit has been designed to fit along the Baltimore Oriole’s stadium at Camden Yards, West Pratt Street and along the Inner Harbor on Light Street. For the first event, organisers are expecting more than 100,000 fans and evaluate it will bring around $70 million to the region. Recent Articles
