A lot has been said in the last months concerning the proposed 2011 IZOD IndyCar schedule. It looks like the series will visit new venues as well as making a comeback to some others.
The IRL officials are expected to unveil its 2011 calendar this Friday but since they already have made some official announcements during the past weeks, it would be safe to assume that our potential schedule could look as follow: 2011 IZOD IndyCar potential schedule: St Petersburg March 27 (r/s) Birmingham April 10 (r/s) Long Beach April 17 (r/s) Brazil May 1 (r/s) Indy 500 May 29 (O) Texas (2-races) June 12 (O) Milwaukee June 19 (O) Iowa June 26 (O) Toronto July 10 (r/s) Edmonton July 24 (r/s) Mid-Ohio August 7 (r/s) Loudon August 14 (O) Sonoma August 28 (r/s) Baltimore September 4 (r/s) Motegi September 18 (r/s) Kentucky October 2 (r/s) *Las Vegas October 16 (O) (O): Oval (r/s): Road or Street course * : To be confirmed There will be a total of 18 races on 17 different tracks, which includes nine ovals and nine street-road courses. The Las Vegas round has not been signed yet, pending it finds a title sponsor but rumours has it that if the season’s finale could not be held there.
