American driver Graham Rahal will be racing in one more IndyCar event with Sarah Fisher Racing as the team secured enough funding for the youngster to race in the streets of Long Beach.
The son of Bobby Rahal, who had initially been rumoured to return to former team Newman/Haas/Lanigan from Long Beach onwards, will now contest a third race with SFR before handing the car back to owner/driver Sarah Fisher from the first oval race of the season at Kansas. The 21-year old struggled to find a set-up in practice and qualifying for his debut with Sarah Fisher Racing in St. Petersburg, but had a strong race to eighth place, scoring the team's first-ever top ten finish.
