Richmond International Raceway had a ratings increase of 100 percent vs. 2004

source: paddocktalk.com Saturday's race coverage garnered a 0.4 rating compared to last year's 0.2 rating, marking the third straight race that the IndyCar Series has shown a dramatic increase in ratings. Coverage of the Indianapolis 500 by ABC Sports on May 29 garnered a 59 percent increase and ESPN's coverage of the Bombardier Learjet 500k on June 11 from Texas Motor Speedway had a ratings increase of 150 percent, making it the highest-rated and most-viewed IndyCar Series race in the network's history. According to Nielsen Media Research, 40 of the country's top 56 markets stayed the same or saw an increase in ratings for the Richmond race vs. 2004 with eight of those markets showing an increase of at least 200 percent. Ratings in 11 of the metered markets doubled over the 2004 rating.
