Tony Cotman, the former ChampCar series technical guru is now in charge of implementing the new rules and regulation for the 2012 IndyCar series.
According to new circulation on the web, Cotman has provided some details about the new technical rules. Corman confirmed that the team would be allowed to use 4-cylinder or V6 engines. The door is apparently opened to use standing starts for the road circuits events. The new Dallara-based cars would not be equipped by a starter but would use an anti-stall device. The new cars would also be fitted with a manual clutch located behind the steering wheel, and only two pedals, as used in Formula 1. Recent Articles
