Solid reviews from participants and race fans source: irl.racing-live.com Watkins Glen : a challenging track! *** Flagworld's photo gallery @ The Glen The IndyCar Series debut at Watkins Glen International Raceway met with solid reviews from participants and apparently a good number of upstate New York race fans. IndyCar Series drivers like Tony Kanaan wanted more road races on the IndyCar Series schedule so they could showcase the skills they grew up honing. And after completing $2million in necessary safety improvements, the grand prix course at Watkins Glen was ready for the IndyCar Series. "From the get go, when we came here, at first we asked for a lot of modifications in the racetrack - and they did it," said Kanaan. "I think there's still a lot of room to improve. But everything that we asked, that was possible for them to do for the amount of time that we had in our hands - they did." Kanaan was also happy with the promotion of the event that drew a large contingent of race fans both in the local hotels and in the RV's and tents lining the race track. "I went to town on Thursday Night for the museum event they had, and saw a lot people there...I saw a lot of buzz around the race," said Kanaan who finished second in the race.
