Frenchman Nelson Philippe (HVM Racing) succeeded in passing his rookie orientation program as he was the only driver to benefit from limited track time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway before a heavy rain arrived.
Philippe became the fifth rookie to pass the orientation program following Tuesday graduates
Alex Tagliani (Conquest), Robert Doornbos (NHLR), Mike Conway (Dreyer & Reinbold) and Raphael Matos (Luczo Dragon).
Philippe completed only18 laps with a best time of 41.3436secs, with fellow rookie Stanton Barrett and second year driver Alex Lloyd the only other drivers to take to the track.
