Castroneves has claimed pole position in the three editions while Dixon has won the race no less than three times.
The championship leaders, Dixon leading and Castroneves being the runner-up, will join by 25 others drivers at the New York State venue that will mark the start of the second half of the season. It will be the second non-oval event of the season, Graham Rahal having won the first one in St-Petersburg.
Competition will also be strong from the former Champ Car series drivers as they saw five of them finished among the top 10 in St-Petersburg. Besides Graham Rahal, KV's Oriol Servia could be another contender for victory; the Spaniard is actually standing in 9th in the championship, as well as his teammate Will Power.
