The leader in performance wear, a new sponsor for Andretti's team source: irl.racing-live.com Andretti Green Racing has announced a partnership with Ironclad Performance Wear, the leader in the performance wear category for construction and industrial professionals, for the 2006 IndyCar Series season. Ironclad will become an associate sponsor of Andretti Green Racing -- the winningest team in IndyCar Series history -- with visibility on all four cars. "We're thrilled to have Ironclad join the family of sponsors at Andretti Green Racing," said Michael Andretti, who co-owns Andretti Green Racing with partners Kim Green and Kevin Savoree. "Not only are they providing the support that will help fuel our 2006 championship campaign, they are also providing our team members a technical advantage with their unique products." Ironclad will work with the entire team to develop new gloves, personal safety products and apparel to help the team perform its duties more efficiently and more comfortably. Ironclad Performance Wear also will leverage the sponsorship to host customers at IndyCar Series events throughout the season, including the Indianapolis 500, and events at Chicagoland Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Andretti Green's team members will utilize high-performance Fusion Force gloves and high-performance apparel. The gloves, designed for use by the entire team, feature the GriptecT System equipped with 3MT gREPTILET gripping material - a highly abrasive material that provides a superior grip when mated to a surface with the same material. Each glove has a swath of gripping material on the palm and fingers, and each pair comes with wrapping tape or fabric squares to be applied to either steering wheels or pit tools. When used together, the Griptec System can create up to 300 percent more gripping strength, which reduces crew members' slips and misses on pit stops. The Griptec system lowers muscle fatigue, decreases shock and vibration and increases gripping capacity.
