Numbers add up to compelling day of racing and entertainment source: Dave Lewandowski In three weeks, the rolling billboards - aka team transporters -- will have 18 wheels on I-75 bound for Homestead, Fla., and the season-opening IndyCar Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The prime-time event - a first in major open-wheel racing - March 24 caps the XM Satellite Radio SpeedJam, which boasts the kickoff Indy Pro Series race of the season at 12:30 p.m. (EDT), a 5:30 p.m. concert featuring JET, a barbeque competition, a car show, carnival rides and remote control car race. Now that's a jam-packed day of entertainment. "It's also one of the greatest values, giving people a full day of fun for a very low price," Homestead-Miami Speedway president Curtis Gray said last week during the IndyCar Series Open Test at his facility.
