Adrian Fernandez's involvement in the Indy Racing League has stretched to two cars following confirmation that Kosuke Matsuura will return to the Super Aguri Fernandez Racing entry for 2006. source: crash.net Despite having been linked to Super Aguri's Formula One project, Matsuura was confirmed as an IRL runner overnight, inking his name to the #55 Panasonic ARTA Dallara-Honda. "I am pleased to announce our continued participation in the IRL with Kosuke Matsuura as our driver," said Suzuki. "Kosuke has gained a lot of experience these past two seasons in his first years of oval track racing, and I believe that he will show us great performances in 2006. With the continued support of Panasonic and Autobacs, I look forward to an exciting season." Despite possibly opting against an F1 debut, the 26-year old Matsuura insisted that the IRL was where he wanted to be this year. "I am excited to be a part of Super Aguri Fernandez Racing again this year," he said, "I have learned a lot these past two years, even through the bad luck we had last season, and feel that we will be very strong in 2006. I want to thank Aguri and Adrian for their support and for giving me this opportunity. I am ready to challenge for not only race wins, but the championship as well." Fernandez Racing will also run a single car for IRL veteran Scott Sharp.
