This weekend's Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose marks the start of the second half of the 2005 Champ Car World Series season
source : Mi-Jack Conquest Racing - Kika Garcia-Concheso Mi-Jack Conquest Racing is looking forward to racing in yet another exciting market as the team works to continue building momentum through the final seven races of the season with young drivers Nelson Philippe and rookie Andrew Ranger. Team co-owner Eric Bachelart took some big steps during the off-season to improve the team's competitiveness, growing the teams technical capabilities and adding veteran Bruce Ashmore to the team, as Philippe returned to drive for the team and Ranger made the step up from the Toyota Atlantics ranks for his rookie Champ Car season. The effort began to show results quickly, as Philippe led his first Champ Car race in Monterrey, Mexico, and teammate Ranger went on to set a record as the youngest driver to stand on a Champ Car podium as the 18-year old scored an impressive second place finish, and went atop the Rookie of the Year standings early in the season. Despite the speed the young drivers have shown, the results in the subsequent races haven't matched the effort put in by the team and the drivers, and team co-owner Eric Bachelart is looking to the San Jose weekend as a good place to set the team up for a strong second half of the season.
