Takagi fastest in this morning in Lexington
source: cart.com LEXINGTON, Ohio--Tora Takagi recorded the fastest time to pace the 30-minute, pre-race warm-up session for today's CART Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The race is Round 11 of the 2002 CART FedEx Championship Series. Driving the Pioneer/Denso Special Toyota/Reynard, Takagi had a top time of 1:08.531, good for an average speed of 118.615 miles per hour. Paul Tracy was second fastest in the KOOL Honda/Lola and teammate Dario Franchitti was third. Tracy had a top time of 1:09.042 (117.737 mph) while Franchitti checked in at 1:09.097 (117.693 mph). Rounding out the top five were Tony Kanaan at 1:09.085 (117.494 mph) in the Pioneer/WorldCom Honda/Lola and Shinji Nakano at 1:09.232 (117.414 mph) in the Alpine/Mitsuba Honda/Lola. Other top-10 runners in the session were Bruno Junqueira and teammate Kenny Brack in Target Toyota/Lolas, Oriol Servia in the Visteon Toyota/Reynard, Cristiano da Matta in the Havoline Toyota/Lola and Jimmy Vasser in the Shell Ford-Cosworth/Lola.
