Événements Sport Auto de Montréal inc., a subsidiary of GPF1 Inc. and promoter and organizer of the Montreal round of the Champ Car World Series, confirms the withdrawal of Molson as main sponsor of the Molson Indy Montreal, an event held at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve since 2002 source: paddocktalk.com Mr. Normand Legault, president and chief executive officer of GPF1 Inc., has issued the following comments today concerning this decision. - We thank Molson very sincerely for offering Quebec motorsport fans some great moments since 2002, providing them with the opportunity to witness the skills of the championship's top drivers - such as Sebastien Bourdais, Oriol Servia, Paul Tracy, Jimmy Vasser and others - as well as giving a chance for Patrick Carpentier, Alexandre Tagliani and Andrew Ranger to run before their home crowd; - The contract binding our group to Champ Car World Series anticipates the presentation of a round of this championship in Montreal in 2006, a round which was already announced when the schedule was released by the series organizers last August; - In the coming weeks, in co-operation with Champ Car series organizers, our team will be busy pursuing initial discussions with companies that would like to associate themselves with the event as a sponsor as of 2006; - We intend to disclose as soon as possible the new name of the event, scheduled for August 25-27, 2006.
