NASCAR Sprint: Joe Nemechek grabs the pole, Carpentier starts 17thSurprise! After a few deceptions since the beginning of the season, Joe Nemechek (Chevy No 78) , known in the past as Front Row Joe, has grabbed the pole position for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the wild Talladega Superspeedway (2.6-mile trioval).
He will start on the front row with Tony Stewart (Camry No 20). Ken Schrader, now driving the No 70 Chevy will start third and A.J. Allmendinger (Camry No 84) fourth! As for Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10), he did better than ever with a 17th starting spot after testing near the end of the pack! Surprise again, Dave Blaney (Camry No 22), J.J.
