Pacific Coast Motorsports completed two-days of testing at Fontana Friday. source: champcarworldseries.com It was the third Champ Car test for drivers Alex Figge and Ryan Dalziel, using the Rocketsports Lola. As preparations continue for their debut in the 2007 Champ Car World Series, Pacific Coast Motorsports spent the last month working with the Rocketsports team, logging over 1500 miles of testing at the Houston Motorsports Ranch and California Speedway. PCM used the Fontana test which took place on Thursday and Friday to simulate a race weekend, "We used the race weekend simulation to give ourselves smaller parameters to work within, for example to getting used to a new track before qualifying," said team manager, Michael Harvey. "We did some long runs on Thursday and also a simulated a qualifying session. Friday, the focus was more race-day orientated, we did a warm-up and then Alex and Ryan completed the 80-lap race distance, which included pitstops. We accomplished what we set out for, which included tire strategies, fuel conservation and driver orientation and we are very happy with the outcome." Harvey continued, "This concludes our testing program with Rocketsports and we would like to thank Phil Howard and all of the Rocketsports guys for accommodating us. This was a huge help for our engineers and drivers, we accumulated about 1500 miles per driver and we feel ready to move for with the new Panoz with the rest of the Champ Car teams." PCM will take delivery of their shiny new 2007 Champ Car's in the coming weeks.
