The end of a long road for Players has come

The unfortunate cancellation this past weekend of the final
event of the 2003 Champ Car World Series season at the California Speedway
officially signaled the end of PF Racing's involvement in motorsport. It has
been a quite ride and we are thrilled for all our fans that it culminated with a
championship season for Paul Tracy, who brought the Vanderbilt Cup back to
Canada, becoming only the second Canadian driver in history - after Jacques
Villeneuve in 1995 - to accomplish the feat.
While we are leaving the sport with much reluctance and sadness, we do so with
considerable pride in our achievements during the last 42 years of sponsoring
racing events, teams and drivers.
We want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to the fans for
their tremendous support. Their passion for racing is what has driven us in our
pursuit of excellence.
The response from fans to the lastlap.ca invitation to sign up to have their
names on the cars for the last three races of the year has been simply
overwhelming, although we are deeply sorry for those who missed out because of
the cancellation of the Fontana event.
We hope our Web Site,
which will be shutting down within the next few weeks, has been an informative
and entertaining tool, one that has increased your enjoyment of the sport.
Once again, thank you and goodbye from all of us at PF Racing.
